MIAMI, United States – Although authorities have not released the identities of the nine people aboard the private jet that crashed in Florida on 1 November, outlets such as TMZ and CNN have revealed the identities of the nine passengers who died in the air disaster, with the aircraft, a Learjet 60, travelling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas but crashing in Palm Beach, Florida, in a residential area near the Cresthaven neighbourhood.

TMZ indicated that, according to sources close to the family, aboard the aircraft were A. R., a 44-year-old businessman, his wife Helen, their two children, two close friends and a nanny, with the outlet revealing that the captain piloting the private jet was J. G., 55, an experienced pilot from Pennsylvania, while the family confirmed to CNN Brasil that the co-pilot was N. G. F., a 20-year-old woman of Brazilian descent.
According to the outlet, the co-pilot had held a licence since she was 17 and had accumulated more than 1,300 flight hours, with everything indicating that the person heard asking for help in the audio revealed seconds before the crash was G. F. “She was an excellent girl: responsible and hard-working. She was the co-pilot and could not make decisions,” her mother told CNN Brasil. The families of A. R., H. S., their children Emma and Charlie, R. R., C. F. and A. M. C. confirmed through a joint statement the loss of their loved ones in the air accident.
The statement pays tribute to A. R. and H. S. as parents devoted to their children Emma, 4, and Charlie, 2, with the families also highlighting the strong bond between C. F. and R. R., emphasising their constant spirit of affection and companionship throughout their lives. A. M. C., who cared for the family’s two minors, was remembered for her dedication and for being considered a fundamental part of the family unit.
“We are deeply grateful to the first responders, investigators and the Palm Beach County community for their care, and to all those who have reached out to us with love. Our hearts are with the families of the pilots, who are mourning alongside us,” they wrote in the text shared on Facebook.
Authorities have begun the corresponding investigation to determine the causes of the tragic accident, with the National Transportation Safety Board holding a press conference on Monday at which it was reported that ice began to form on the aircraft amid turbulence, after which the crew requested an increase in altitude from 35,000 to 37,000 feet and then reported the emergency to the control tower.

After the crash, videos on social media capturing the moment of impact began circulating rapidly, with the clips showing the aircraft falling at full speed, crashing and causing a strong explosion. “When you see that video, it is shocking. It is as if a missile fell and a huge explosion occurred, with debris flying everywhere,” said Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. People living near the crash site said they felt the falling plane pass near their homes, heard the explosion and then felt a kind of shockwave, with the accident also causing damage to the road, damaging water pipes and bringing down high-voltage lines, forcing some 600 people living in the surrounding area to be evacuated.
