Three Arrested in Playa de Palma for Assault and Attempted Sexual Aggression

PALMA DE MALLORCA, Spain — Three Moroccan nationals have been arrested by the Spanish National Police in Playa de Palma following a violent physical and attempted sexual assault against a young woman. The suspects are now facing serious charges of physical assault and sexual aggression after a brutal early-morning attack in late June.

The incident occurred on June 30 during the early hours of the morning. According to police reports, the three men approached a young woman who was walking alone along the beach, attempting to flirt with her. When the woman clearly expressed her disinterest and rejected their advances, the situation escalated rapidly and violently. The assailants allegedly grabbed the victim by the neck and dragged her onto the sand, where they attempted to pull down her trousers in an apparent attempt to sexually assault her.

When the victim fiercely resisted their efforts, the men began to brutally beat her, delivering multiple punches and kicks directly to her head and face. Following the assault, the attackers fled the scene, leaving the injured woman behind.

The victim acted swiftly, filing a formal complaint at a National Police station later that same day. This prompted an immediate investigation by authorities to identify and locate the suspects based on the victim’s description and the circumstances of the attack.

The breakthrough in the case occurred last Tuesday when the victim and a family member unexpectedly recognized the three alleged attackers in public. Demonstrating remarkable composure, they intervened and detained the men, holding them at the scene until National Police officers arrived to take them into formal custody.

The three individuals have been formally accused of crimes of physical injury and sexual aggression. They are currently in police custody awaiting judicial processing. The swift resolution of the case, driven by the victim’s prompt reporting and the decisive action of her family member, has been highlighted by local authorities as a critical factor in bringing the alleged perpetrators to justice.
