Corpse Found Hidden In Refrigerator In Castellón Apartment During Sexual Assault Probe
CASTELLÓN, Spain — National Police officers have discovered a man’s corpse hidden inside a refrigerator in an apartment in Castellón, leading to the arrest of a suspect who was already under investigation for a severe sexual assault. The macabre discovery was made on Tuesday during a court-ordered search of the suspect’s residence in the Plaza Pintor Sorolla area of the city.
Man Arrested in Cadaqués for Sexual Assault
The grim find occurred as investigators were executing a judicial warrant to search the apartment. The warrant had been issued in connection with an ongoing investigation into a violent sexual assault complaint. Following the discovery of the body, police moved swiftly to apprehend the suspect, who was arrested later that Tuesday afternoon in the coastal town of Peñíscola.
According to details reported by the local newspaper Levante-EMV, the initial investigation was triggered by a complaint filed by a young woman, approximately 20 years old and of Asian descent, who allegedly worked as a cleaner for the suspect. The victim reported to authorities that she was raped in the suspect’s home while performing her cleaning duties. She alleged that the suspect threatened her with a knife and forced her to perform various sexual acts. After managing to escape the residence, the woman went to the Provincial Hospital of Castellón, where she received medical attention and subsequently filed a formal report with the National Police.
It was this complaint that prompted investigators to seek a judicial search warrant for the suspect’s apartment on Plaza Pintor Sorolla, as it was the alleged location of the sexual assault. However, during the execution of the search, officers made the shocking discovery of the male corpse concealed inside the appliance’s freezer compartment.

At this early stage of the investigation, authorities have not confirmed whether the discovery of the deceased man is directly related to the sexual assault complaint filed by the cleaner. The Provincial Brigade of the Judicial Police has taken charge of the case, working in close coordination with the Scientific Police, who are currently processing the crime scene and analyzing the evidence to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death.
