Migrant Killed as Paraglider Plunges into Sea Near Ceuta
CEUTA, Spain – A young sub-Saharan migrant has died after falling into the sea while attempting to enter the Spanish enclave of Ceuta by paraglider, the Civil Guard confirmed on Friday.

The incident occurred around 8:00 AM when officers spotted a person attempting to access the city using a paraglider, reportedly launched from the mountains of Benzú in the northern bay. According to initial indications, the migrant intended to land in an area near the northern border but is believed to have lost control of the paraglider, plunging into the water below.
The Civil Guard responded swiftly to the scene, holding out hope that the individual might still be alive. However, upon arrival, officers confirmed that the young man had died. His body was recovered and transferred to the Maritime Service facilities of the Civil Guard. Authorities have confirmed that the deceased was a young sub-Saharan migrant, though his identity has not yet been released.

The man reportedly crashed into the water near the Benzú border and was pulled out by Spain’s Guardia Civil, but could not be revived.
