The break-in occurred in the early hours of the morning when the intruder smashed a window to gain entry to the property. The woman, who had been asleep in her bedroom, was suddenly awakened by a noise and, upon turning around, found a Moroccan man in his underwear lying in her bed.
According to local reports, the woman immediately began screaming, prompting her husband and son to rush to the bedroom. The family confronted the intruder, who was subsequently detained by authorities.

The incident is the latest in a series of security concerns in Ceuta, which has been grappling with an unprecedented migration crisis following last week’s mass border breach. With thousands of migrants still in the city, local residents have grown increasingly anxious about their safety and the strain on public services.
The case has also reignited political debate over border security and immigration management. Vox, a right-wing political party, has called for “maximum firmness” in response to the incident and for the return of migrants to Morocco. Meanwhile, civil society organizations have urged restraint, warning against stigmatizing the migrant population and calling for a focus on individual accountability rather than collective targeting.

Police have not disclosed the identity of the arrested man nor the specific charges he faces. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the break-in and whether the individual had any prior criminal record. The incident underscores the growing social friction in Ceuta, where the convergence of migration pressure and local security concerns continues to create a volatile environment.
