The incident occurred when the elderly victim was walking along a public street and was approached by a woman requesting charitable assistance. In an act of goodwill, the man provided a small amount of money and continued on his way with the aid of his walking cane.
According to investigators, the woman subsequently followed the victim and approached him unexpectedly from behind, causing him to fall to the ground. Authorities stated that the suspects took advantage of the man’s advanced age and limited physical capacity to react. While the victim remained on the ground, the woman briefly left the scene to summon a second individual. Upon returning, one of the suspects restrained the victim’s hands to immobilize him while the other removed his wallet containing sixty euros. The suspects then fled the location, leaving the elderly man injured on the ground with wounds to his hands.
Agents of the Civil Guard subsequently identified the alleged perpetrators through investigative procedures. The woman has been taken into custody, while the second individual remains under investigation. Authorities confirmed that the stolen money has been recovered and returned to the victim.
Under Spanish criminal law, robbery involving violence or intimidation against vulnerable persons constitutes an aggravated offense that can result in enhanced penalties upon conviction. Prosecutors will evaluate all available evidence, including witness statements, forensic documentation, and digital records, to determine appropriate charges and procedural next steps.
