The incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of Passeig de la Zona Franca and Carrer del Foc in the Marina del Port neighborhood. Local residents reported hearing a loud disturbance in the public thoroughfare, prompting emergency services to dispatch riot control units from the Mossos d’Esquadra alongside municipal police patrols.
Upon arrival, officers found that most of the individuals involved had already fled the scene on foot or aboard electric scooters. Several injured persons remained at the location and received initial assessment from emergency responders. Catalan police have confirmed that no arrests were made during the initial response, though an investigation has been opened regarding potential charges including attempted homicide, hate crimes, and arson.
According to preliminary reports, some participants in the confrontation began setting fire to urban furniture, though the flames were quickly contained by emergency personnel. The altercation reportedly escalated to extreme levels of violence, with investigators indicating that at least one individual allegedly attempted to cause fatal harm to an opponent during the melee.
Police have stated that there is no confirmed evidence that bladed weapons or firearms were used during the incident. Injuries appear to consist primarily of blows and contusions, with no victims reportedly sustaining life-threatening wounds. Medical personnel treated those affected at the scene, and no hospitalizations of critical severity have been confirmed.
