MARBELLA, Spain – Alexander Aslani, a well-known 57-year-old plastic surgeon based in Marbella, has been shot dead inside his own clinic, with the doctor working when a hooded man entered the centre and opened fire on him before fleeing, and the National Police keeping an investigation open to clarify the crime and identify those responsible.

The events occurred in the late afternoon in the Real Panorama urbanisation, located to the east of Marbella. According to initial reports, an individual dressed in black with his face covered entered the premises and fired several times at the surgeon, who was inside the centre along with other people. After the attack, the gunman fled the scene on a motorcycle, allegedly with the help of an accomplice, with several calls alerting the 112 Andalucía emergency service at around 5.40pm.
National Police and Local Police officers attended the clinic along with medical services, with professionals attempting to stabilise the doctor, but the wounds caused by the shots were fatal and he died at the scene. The investigation is now trying to reconstruct what happened and determine who is behind the murder, with officers working to identify the material author of the attack and locate those who may have facilitated his escape.
One of the main questions is the motive for the crime, with the possibility initially raised in the first hours that it could be a settling of accounts related to organised crime, though according to police sources this hypothesis has been ruled out for the moment. Investigators are also examining whether the murder could be related to his professional activity as a doctor or to possible conflicts arising from his operations, with no arrests reported so far and various lines of investigation remaining open, the priority being to clarify the circumstances of the killing.
Aslani was a well-known figure in plastic surgery with more than three decades of professional experience, and before founding Cirumed Clinic in 2018 he developed part of his career in the United Kingdom before holding responsibilities in the Plastic Surgery departments of the Quirón hospitals in Málaga and Marbella between 2008 and 2018. One of his main specialities was the Brazilian Butt Lift, a body-reshaping technique involving extracting fat from areas such as the abdomen or thighs and transferring it to the buttocks, and according to data disseminated by his own clinic he had performed more than 14,000 operations over his career, of which more than 7,000 were related to BBL procedures.
His professional activity had turned Marbella into a destination for international patients, with his patients including, according to the clinic itself, celebrities, models and members of royal families, and besides buttock-reshaping operations his work included breast operations, abdominoplasties and other body surgery procedures, receiving recognition as Best Plastic Surgeon in Spain in 2016 according to the clinic’s website.

Beyond his professional career, the surgeon shared his life with Jeannine, his wife, who also worked at Cirumed as nursing director, with the couple having been together for at least 25 years and having two children in common. The National Police have arrested an 18-year-old Swedish man of foreign origin as the alleged perpetrator of the shooting death of 57-year-old plastic surgeon Alexander Aslani, which occurred Wednesday inside his clinic in Marbella, according to sources close to the investigation who spoke to the Efe News Agency.
