Moroccan attackers who raped girls in Ceuta remain at large and unidentified
CEUTA, Spain – Rapists and paedophiles who arrived as part of the Moroccan migrant influx into Ceuta remain free on the streets of the autonomous city, as they have neither been identified nor detained after committing sexual assaults, raising serious concerns about the high risk of reoffending. Although socialist officials continue to insist that normality has returned to Ceuta and that girls and women are safe, police officers have been warning that rapes are occurring daily at the hands of Moroccan irregular migrants, with these assaults often carried out by groups.
Overwhelmed Police in Ceuta Report Daily Sexual Assaults
The sexual aggressors, many of whom remain unidentified and have been roaming the streets of Ceuta for two weeks, include both unaccompanied minors and adult Moroccans, with victims including girls and young women of both Moroccan and sub-Saharan origin. The police union Jupol believes the government is concealing this situation rather than alerting the population to exercise caution, as sexual assaults and rapes are being committed.
Laura García, a spokesperson for Jupol, warned that rapists and paedophiles are currently at large in Ceuta, highlighting the urgent need for authorities to address the public safety crisis. The situation has intensified pressure on the Spanish government to take decisive action to identify and apprehend the perpetrators, while local residents have expressed growing fear and frustration over the perceived lack of effective measures to ensure security in the city. Critics have accused the government of downplaying the severity of the problem, calling for greater transparency and more robust enforcement to protect vulnerable populations and restore order in the wake of the mass migration event.
