The victim retaliated with a punch, and the suspect fled.
Officers on motorcycles located the suspect on Agustí Font promenade. He was injured, with three broken teeth and a jaw injury from the earlier altercation. When asked to identify himself, the man became hostile, prompting the officers to request backup. After additional units arrived, the suspect was subdued, but during the struggle, he spat blood at the officers.

The man was eventually detained and taken to the police station, where medical personnel from the Emergency Medical System attended to his injuries and transported him to the hospital. It was there that routine tests revealed the detainee was HIV-positive, triggering immediate concern for the officers who had been in direct contact with his blood.
A preventive protocol was activated, requiring the eight officers involved to undergo medical testing to determine whether any infection had occurred. Four officers attended a clinic on Thursday for tests, while the remaining four were scheduled for Friday. The tests will confirm whether any infection has occurred and, if necessary, allow for rapid treatment to prevent further complications.
